Obituary of Leon Dewitt Williams
In Loving Memory of
Leon Williams Jr.
June 26, 1965 – May 10, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Leon Williams Jr. on May 10, 2026. Leon departed this life surrounded by the love, prayers, and cherished memories of family and friends. Leon was born on June 26, 1965, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Leon Williams Sr. and Lavenia M. Williams. He was known for his giving spirit, infectious sense of humor, inner strength, and immense generosity. Throughout his life, Leon touched many hearts through his deep compassion, resilience, and the lasting relationships he built with everyone around him. Leon attended Tech High School and later dedicated his career to the film development industry. Outside of work, he thoroughly enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, and collecting his favorite watches. He had a profound love for jazz music and a beautiful, compassionate heart for his community, regularly volunteering his time feeding the homeless. More than anything else, Leon valued family, friendship, and creating unforgettable memories with those he loved.
In 1987, he was united in marriage to Delena Williams Walters. From this loving union, the following children were born and left cherish his memory include his sons, Leon D. Williams III and Deven D. Williams; daughter, Ashlee Williams; stepson, Julian Davis; and stepdaughter, Colby Burrus. He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Dimeria Marilyn Talena Williams, Deven Dawaun Williams Jr., Damari Lynn Williams, Dimoni Dewitt Williams, Dior Clay Williams, and Daisi Marie Williams; nieces and nephews, Kristen Jackson, Tiela Williams, Tanna Williams, and Ramir Williams; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaiden Harrison, Kimorah Jackson, Malayah Taylor, and Mayson Williams; stepmother, Yvonne Williams; stepsister, Leslie Hughley; and stepbrother, Michael Williams.
Leon was reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Caroline Williams; his parents, Leon Williams Sr. and Lavenia M. Williams; his sisters, Debra L. Williams and Kim M. Williams; as well as a host of deeply cherished family, friends, aunts, and uncles.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the prayers, love, unwavering support, phone calls, visits, and countless acts of kindness shown during this difficult time.
