Obituary of Ronald Roy Miner
Ronald R. Miner, surrounded by his loving family, made his peaceful transition on May 13, 2026.
Born on October 13, 1942, he lived an expansive life filled with passion and philanthropic bravado.
Graduating from Ben Davis High School in 1960, Ron touched many lives as approximately 85,000 skaters passed through Melody Skateland annually. Serving as co-owner with his sister, Sanja Puletz, he gained recognition as a judge in regional and national competitions, and remained a lifetime member of the Roller Skating Association.
Receiving notoriety for his professional achievements, Ron's most treasured blessing and greatest joy was being a dad to his sons, Ronald R. Miner II and Jeffrey S. Miner.
Earning the coveted Duntov Award for his 1961 Corvette, Ron was a lifelong member of the Circle City Corvette Club, the National Corvette Museum as well as the National Corvette Restorers Society.
Ron served his community as a deputy constable within Franklin Township. He was also celebrated as an Honorary Admiral in the Indiana Navy, earned an Indianapolis Key to the City award for his work with the first Sports Festival, and became a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash award.
Ron was a former member of the Indianapolis Optimists, Indiana Sports Corporation, Western Masonic Lodge #26, Brookside Masonic Lodge #720, and the Sahara Grotto.
Going before him was his cherished son, Ronald R. Miner II, and his brother Jon Miner, respectfully.
His legacy will continue as he is forever remembered by his beloved son, Jeffrey S. Miner, his grandson, Miles Miner, sister, Sanja Puletz, nephew, Tod (Heather) Puletz, and wife of 29 years, Deanna Miner.
At this time of reverence, please send memorials to Tunnels to Towers (718-987-1931) and Wounded Warriors (888-997-2586).
