Obituary of Linda M. Hansen
With great love and respect, we honor the life of Linda May Hansen, who was born on January 3, 1942, in Cumberland County, Kentucky, and gently left this earth on April 18, 2026. Linda, a compassionate, humble, loving, and supportive soul, spent her life in service to others and cherished her family above all else. She was an unwavering pillar of strength, a beacon of love, and a testament to the enduring power of kindness.
Linda resided in Lapel, Indiana, after living in Westside Garden Plaza, where she was known for her selfless acts of kindness, helping many of her friends and neighbors. She spent 16 remarkable years at Western Electric in assembly before moving on to work for Lane Bryant for another 12 dedicated years. Linda's commitment to her work was a reflection of her humble nature and her unwavering dedication to providing for her family. Despite her busy career, Linda still found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved the thrill of a good bingo game and the calming effect of engaging in crafts, where her creativity would shine brightly.
Linda was a faithful Baptist, an active member of her church and lived out her faith daily. As it says in Proverbs 31:25-26, "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." Linda was a shining example of this verse, living her life with strength, dignity, and kindness, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving family, granddaughter Mattie Hansen, her siblings Eddie Long, James Long, Clayton Long, and Alma Cook, and six great grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her beloved son Ricky Hansen, and her parents, Iva and Carlie Long.
Linda's spirit lives on in those who were privileged to know and love her. Her legacy is a tapestry of love, woven with threads of compassion, humility, support, and unwavering faith, which will continue to inspire generations. We invite you to celebrate Linda's life by sharing your memories and uploading photos to her memorial page. We take comfort knowing that our beloved Linda is now reunited with her son Ricky in Heaven's embrace.
Funeral services will be scheduled at a later date.
