Obituary of Brett Randall Lewis

Brett Randall “Bebop” Lewis, 66, passed away on December 19, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on February 15, 1959, in Mobile, Alabama, Brett lived a life filled with rhythm, passion, and deep devotion to those he held dear.

For 25 years, Brett dedicated himself to his work at the Indianapolis Airport. His long-standing commitment reflected not only his strong work ethic but also his steady presence in the lives of those around him.

Brett’s heart beat strongest for music and the open road. A gifted musician, he found joy in writing poems and playing his drums, keyboard, and guitar. Whether composing a heartfelt verse or losing himself in a melody, Brett expressed himself through sound and word with unmistakable soul. His love for riding his Harley was more than a pastime—it was a way of life. As a proud member of the Iron Vikings, he embraced the camaraderie and freedom that came with every mile traveled.

Family was at the center of Brett’s world. He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen Lewis; his siblings, Scott and Tonya; his sons Adam, Darrell, Brandon, and Derek; his stepchildren Patrick, Elisabeth, and Gina; his cherished grandchildren Annika, Kara, Lillie, Makya, Chloe, Haley, Messiah, Hector, Scarlett and Adam Jr; his unborn great grandson. Each grandchild held a special place in Brett’s heart—he celebrated their uniqueness and took pride in being part of their lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Wilton Lewis.

Those who knew Brett will remember him for his unwavering love of music and motorcycles—and above all—for the love he gave so freely to family and friends. His presence brought warmth to gatherings and rhythm to quiet moments.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire stories shared around tables and campfires for years to come.
