Obituary of Judith Ann Williams

Judith Ann Williams, 85, found peace on December 13, 2025 after a brave battle with dementia. Judy never lost her spunk and determination throughout her journey.

Judy enjoyed her childhood living in the Ben Davis area. She graduated from IU School of Nursing and continued to be an active IU Alumni until her health started to fail. Nursing was a true calling for this caring lady. Her compassion and leadership skills combined to make her a one-of-a-kind Nursing Supervisor.

Judy was a true Indiana sports fan. She enjoyed attending Indianapolis Colts games beginning with the Colts inaugural season. The Indianapolis Pacers and IU basketball kept her cheering all winter. Judy loved all sports but football held a special place in her heart. She loved attending any kind of football, from High School to Pros.

Entertaining was Judy’s secret power. A party planner extraordinaire. Theme parties were her specialty. Her Indy 500 parties were legendary. The annual Ladies Limo nights were the highlight of the year for the women in her family as laughter and bad karaoke were spread all over Indy. None of the family will forget her “switchin’ in the kitchen.”

Judy was a wicked Euchre player. She loved nothing better than playing in Euchre Tournaments and groups around the city.

All who knew and loved her are now tasked with carrying on her zest for life. If she had a final wish for all she loved it would be for their life to be filled with daily laughter, joy in living and love for each other. Judy left forever footprints on the hearts of each life she touched.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Stegemoller (Virginia), and Catherine McQuary. Her son, Michael May and her brother Jim Stegemoller, sister-in- law Sue Stegemoller.

Judy is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Williams. Her surviving children, Cathy Sheeran (Elmo), Mark May, Nikkita Williams, Jimmy May and Phyllis McDill. Her brother John Stegemoller (Carol), and sister Debbie Overman (Chris) also survive. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Dustin Knapp (Carrie), Brandon May and Gage May. Great  Grandchildren, Dustin Knapp, Jr, Brandon and Carl May.

Judy was loved greatly by her many nieces and nephews. Gina Marsiglio (Anthony), Sara Fisher (Jeremy), Dawson and Bodhi Fisher, Jon George, Lisa Goodin, Kortney Koers, Ryley
Leach, Kylie Coatney (Brian) Adalyn and Huxley Coatney, Alison Serio (Paul) James and Cora Serio, and JT Hunker.
