Obituary of Charlotte Mae Schaffer
Charlotte Mae Morrical Schaffer (71) was born July 6, 1954. She was born to Kenneth and Dolorse Morrical at the U.S. Army Hospital in Ft Riley, Kansas. She entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 23, 2025 from her home in Indianapolis.
Proceeding Charlotte in death are her parents Kenneth and Dolorse Morrical and the seven children she carried in her heart but was never able to hold.
She is survived by her loving husband Daniel Schaffer. They recently celebrated their 48th-and-a-half wedding anniversary on November 14th while she was at rehab. She is also survived by her brother Steven Morrical (Leann); her sister Rhonda Morrical Cannon (Vincent); and, her nieces and nephews that she dearly loved: Thomas Morrical, Danielle Motley, Olivia Blaker, Theodore Cannon, Justin Schaffer, Sharalie Bechtold, Stephanie Machen and Matt Schaffer.
Charlotte was still a baby when she and her parents moved to Mattoon, Illinois, where they lived until she was almost a teenager, then resided in Bloomington, Illinois for a short time. The family relocated to Indianapolis in 1968 where she spent the rest of her life.
Charlotte graduated from Northwest High School in 1972. She attended the Jordan School of Music at Butler University for a short time. She loved to sing and play the organ. Charlotte was involved in singing groups throughout her life and was a church soloist for many years.
Charlotte was an early childhood educator for many years and also a nanny for several families. She worked in all areas of children’s ministry at many churches throughout her life. She had a cable access program called ‘Aunt Charlotte and Friends’ where she taught children about Jesus. She was ‘Aunt Charlotte’ to many children. Charlotte was also a Christian clown and performed at many church and secular events, always sharing the Gospel of Christ.
If you ever met Charlotte—even for a couple of minutes—you knew she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM, Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Stevens Mortuary 5520 W. 10th Street Indianapolis, IN 46224, with visitation from 10:00AM until time of service. Interment to follow in Floral Park Cemetery.
