Obituary of Robert Eugene Trout
Robert E. “Bob” Trout, age 85, passed away on October 19, 2025, in Mooresville, Indiana. Born on January 23, 1940, in West Palm Beach, Florida Bob lived a full and adventurous life marked by service, exploration, and deep devotion to his family.
Bob began his education at St. Ann’s Catholic School and graduated from Palm Beach High School. In 1959, he answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army, where he held the rank of Private First Class (E-3) until 1965. His time in the military instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and commitment that he carried throughout his life.
A man of many passions, Bob had an insatiable curiosity and zest for life. He was an avid fan of the Indy 500 and rarely missed an opportunity to immerse himself in the excitement of the race. His love for travel took him around the globe, and he embraced every journey with enthusiasm. Whether flying through the skies or diving beneath the waves, Bob found joy in adventure – earning his wings as a pilot and exploring underwater worlds through scuba diving. He also enjoyed boating, and cherished time spent on the water.
Bob’s professional life was another source of pride. He approached his work with dedication and integrity, always eager to lend a hand or share his wisdom. Known for his heart of gold, Bob was generous with both his time and spirit. He had a remarkable ability to listen deeply and offer thoughtful advice, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.
His sense of humor was ever present, lighting up rooms and lifting up spirits. Those fortunate enough to spend time with him often walked away with a smile and a story to remember.
Above all else, Bob treasured his family. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Kathleen Lewis; his son Robert Trout; grandchildren Patrick Purslow, Elisabeth Austin, Gina Shaw, Steven Trout, and Katrina Barlow; great-grandchildren Chlow Purslow, Haley Perslow, Annika Johnson, Kara Johnson, Lillie Sircy, Makya Shaw, Messiah Wilson, Kaitlyn Schwartz, and Nathan Barlow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Trout and Lillian Gagnon.
Bob’s legacy is one of kindness, courage, laughter, and love- a life well -lived and deeply felt by those around him. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire lives filled with generosity and adventure.
