Obituary of Ronald Joseph Wiesehan

Ronald J. Wiesehan, known affectionately by family and friends as Ron, departed from this life on October 6, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 83. Born on July 9, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, Ron was a beacon of kindness, creativity, and faith throughout his days.

Having established a life grounded in love and service, Ron leaves behind a legacy that reflects his unwavering dedication to his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Wiesehan, whom he cherished in every chapter of their lives together. His steadfast love and patient wisdom will live on in the hearts of his children, Chris (Renee) Wiesehan of Haddonfield, NJ, and Peggy (Dean) Wiesehan of Newbury Park, CA. Grandson Colton Wiesehan will carry forward the joyful spirit of his grandfather.

Ron's siblings, Donna (Kenny) Olsen, Len (Ann) Wiesehan, Wallace (Jacque) Wiesehan, Pam (Charlie) Davis, Terri (John) Tessmer, and Robert (Coney) Wiesehan, along with numerous nieces and nephews, are a testament to the warm and extended family Ron was proud to be a part of.

The wave of Ron's influence leaves a lasting impact on the community. As the former owner of Kristy's Cafe in Plainfield, IN, from 1998 until 2009, Ron cultivated a gathering place that mirrored his own, welcoming nature. His leadership skills shone brightly during his time as President of the Indianapolis Bonsai Club, where he nurtured growth in both the miniature trees and the community of enthusiasts.

Ron was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in Indianapolis, where his faith provided guidance, comfort, and joy. His faith served as his anchor throughout his life.

Many adjectives could be used to describe Ron, but "faith-filled," "loving," and “creative" surfaced most frequently in descriptions of him by friends and family alike. His legacy is evident in the many lives he enriched with his generous spirit, eye for beauty, and enduring love.

Preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Maude (Moise) Wiesehan, his sister Sharon, brothers John and James, and stepson Evan Patrick Smock, Ron will now reunite with his loved ones gone before him.

Though his absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, the cherished memories he created will forever remind them of his enduring presence.
