Obituary of Randyll Musselman

Randyll Musselman, 83, of Belmond, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Belmond United Methodist Church, 1031 1st Street Southeast in Belmond, with Pastor Laurene Banza.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Randyll Alan Musselman, the son of Glenn and Doris (Berghefer) Musselman, was born on June 19, 1942, in Belmond, Iowa.  He grew up in Belmond and graduated from Belmond High School with the class of 1960.

Following graduation, Randy enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as an electrician’s mate aboard the icebreaker USS Atka.  He was honorably discharged after 3 years of service.

Randy and his wife, Brenda with their four children, moved to Indiana in 1978, where he continued his career in the ready-mix industry. Randy later married his late wife, Barb in 2000.  They lived in Brownsburg, Indiana where they owned and operated a horseboarding and training facility for 20 years.

In 2020, he returned to his childhood hometown to be closer to his siblings and lifelong friends.

Randy never met a stranger—he loved being around people and had a gift for making others laugh with his quick wit and endless supply of jokes. He enjoyed playing softball and took pride in coaching his children’s teams. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends.

Randy was a proud member of American Legion Post 331.

Randy is survived by his children Teresa (Wayne) Houghton, Jay (Teresa) Musselman, Patrick (Darcie Birge) Musselman, and Andee (Cris) Mabbitt; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters Barb Dickerson, Sheila (Gary) Ruka, and Cyndy McNulty along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barb, Sister Vicki (Musselman) Hansen and granddaughter Ashley Houghton.

Randy will be laid to rest in Brownsburg Cemetery on August 23, for all that knew and loved him, the service will begin at 10 AM.  Following the graveside service a time for fellowship and a meal will be held at Jay and Teresa Musselman’s home in Jamestown, Indiana.
