Obituary of Jeffery A. Girdley

Jeffery Allen Girdley, born on April 16, 1966, in the city of Indianapolis, completed his earthly journey and entered eternal rest on July 23, 2025, in his beloved state of Indiana. Jeffery, known for his unwavering spirit and selfless nature, was a beacon of light and laughter to all who knew him. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather, whose presence enriched the lives of his family and friends.

Before he was called home, Jeffery dedicated many years of his life as a skilled Commercial HVAC Technician for Mission Mechanical. His work not only showcased his expertise but also his commitment to service and community, reflecting his deeply held spiritual beliefs. Jeffery's faith was an integral part of his life, and he lived with a conviction that resonated in his daily interactions and the love he freely shared with others.

Jeffery's life was marked by a profound connection to the natural world. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace and joy in the simplicity of hunting, fishing, and arrowhead hunting. The tranquil hours spent in his garden tending to his flowers, especially daylilies, were a testament to his patience and nurturing spirit. The thrill of morel mushroom hunting was a cherished springtime pursuit, a tradition he looked forward to each year.

Beyond his outdoor hobbies, Jeffery's playful heart shone brightest when he was picking on and teasing his daughters. His gentle ribbing was always delivered with a twinkle in his eye and a ready smile. His role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, delighting in every moment spent with his grandkids, Jacob, Logan, Chloe, and Warren, whose lives he touched with wisdom and whimsy.

Though he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Joann Ritter Girdley, and his daughter, Karen Girdley, Jeffery's legacy of love and laughter lives on through his surviving family. His daughters, Katie Stuck of Crawfordsville, IN and Chrissy Girdley of Avon, IN; step-son, David Ward of Avon; his mother and father, Nancy Sue and David Carol Girdley; sisters, Carol Smith of Rockville and Amy Girdley of Indianapolis; all carry forward the light of his spirit. His memory will also be held dear by his grandsons, Jacob Girdley, Logan Sheehan and Warren Stuck, and granddaughter, Chloe Peterson.

Jeffery was the cherished son of David Carol Girdley and Nancy Sue Schaffer Girdley, who instilled in him the values of kindness and generosity that defined his life. His funny, spirited nature made him a joy to be around, and his selflessness was a gift to all who were fortunate to cross his path.

As we remember Jeffery, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion. His belief in Jesus and God was strong, and he shared his convictions with an open heart, guiding his family and friends with gentle reassurance and unwavering faith. His laughter and love are imprinted on our hearts forever, and his spirit will continue to guide us, as we hold dear the memories of a man who was truly one of a kind.

In honoring Jeffery Allen Girdley, we acknowledge a life that exemplified the virtues of spirituality, compassion, and joy. He was a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on the world. May he rest in peace, his soul soaring high on the wings of angels, into the welcoming embrace of the Divine.
