Obituary of Carolyn A. Moench

Carolyn Ann (Baker) Moench, a beacon of service and faith, passed away on July 9, 2025, in Avon, Indiana. Born on July 3, 1945, in Bremen, Indiana, Carolyn's journey was marked by passion, dedication, and a nurturing spirit that touched the lives of everyone around her. Her departure is felt deeply, but her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire all those she has left behind.

Carolyn's life was a testament to the power of service and the strength of family bonds. Married to the late Charles William Moench, her partnership developed a family with shared dreams and mutual support. Though her beloved husband, sister Marge Arnold, and brother James (Jim) Baker preceded her in death, their memories remain a cherished part of her story.

Carolyn's legacy thrives through her loving children, Brian, Karen, Beth, and Keith (Stephanie) Moench, who continue to embody her values and spirit. Her grandchildren, Mallory, Jordan, Ashton, Bryson, Conrad, and Marit, and great-grandchildren, Amari, DJ, Amirah, and Denver, will forever carry the lessons and love she instilled in them. Her siblings, Jane Baker, Kathy (Jay) Seeger, Ken (Cindy) Baker, Patty Cunningham, and Gale Baker, will remember her as a guiding light in their lives.

A graduate of Bremen High School and Indiana State University with a Master of Science in Education, she dedicated her life to teaching.  She taught many students at Perry Meridian Middle School, South Wayne Junior High School, and Ivy Tech Vocational School always showing dedication to the student.  Her dedication to education was unwavering. As a teacher, she not only imparted knowledge but also inspired her students to reach for their dreams with unrelenting support.

Carolyn's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and joys. Her involvement with the Avon Optimist Club and Faith Lutheran Church were expressions of her commitment to service and community. Her love for sewing, cooking, canning, and puzzles were matched only by her passion for supporting her family's activities, leaving a legacy of countless cherished memories with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Carolyn's life was a symphony of loving support and faith-filled moments that resonated with passion. Her story encourages us to embrace our support for family every day with enthusiasm and to cherish the memories we make. Her life reminds us that it is not the number of days we live, but the love we share and the passion we bring to each  memory that truly counts.
