Obituary of Charles Edward Johnson III

Charles Edward Johnson III

(Chuckie, Chuck)
February 27, 1967 – February 14, 2025

Charles Edward “Chuckie” Johnson III, 57, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on February 14, 2025. He was born on February 27, 1967, in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Charles was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend who never met a stranger. His warm heart and adventurous spirit led him to a career as a truck driver, where he found joy in traveling and meeting new people. He loved and cherished time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Johnson (Burton), sister Tawnya Johnson Patton, brother Brian C Johnson, and son Cameron Johson.

He is survived by his wife, Bukola Johnson; father, Charles Edward Johnson Jr.; stepmother, Elizabeth Johnson; siblings Kimberly Wills (Willie J. Wills Jr.), Rainbow Smith, Jason E Johnson, Evans Cassell, and Pamela Cassell; as well as his beloved children Keyshawn Johnson, Kendale Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Mason Phillips, Charlene Johnson, CJ Johnson, Autumn Johnson, Cheyenne Johnson, Chelsea Johnson, Chase Johnson, Blaine Johnson, Britney Johnson , grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

I would like to extend my heartfelt apologies to any of Charles’ children whose names may have been inadvertently omitted from this tribute. Charles blessed us with many children—We were only able to include the 12 names that were available to us at the time. Every child is cherished.

A celebration of life will be held on February 28, 2025, at Stevens Mortuary at viewing 12 to 2, and services 2:00 pm.

Proverbs 3:6
"In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Though his journey on earth has ended, his love, laughter, and memories will continue to travel with us always.
