Obituary of Donald Ray Gottman
Donald Ray Gottman, 85, of Speedway passed away on February 12, 2025. Don was born April 13, 1939 in Evansville, Indiana. He graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1957 then went on to serve four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Sutherland, honorably discharged in 1961. Don worked for the FAA as an air traffic control supervisor, retiring in 1988. He retired a second time after working eight years for Federal Express. Don has been a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church for 58 years. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lou Ann (Schenk) Gottman; one son Steve (Barb) Gottman; three daughters Becky (Mike) Jones, Kathy (Doug) Jones and Debbie (David) Copher; 18 grand children and 15 great grand children; one sister Carol (Gary) Sisney; one nephew Ryan (Summer) Sisney, two nieces Gina (Joel) Malefyt, and Erica (Jason) Nellis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributioons can be made to Holy Family Shelter 907 N. Holmes Ave Indianapolis, IN 46222 or St. Christopher Catholic Church 5301 W. 16th Street Indianapolis, IN 46224.
