Obituary of Christopher Alan Carlson
Christopher Alan Carlson, 49, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on January 8, 2016. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 7, 1966 to Richard P. "Dick" Carlson and Elizabeth J. (Fleming) Porteous. He was a self-employed herbal chemist, cultivator, farmer and landscaper. Chris was a loving and devoted son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Chris enjoyed traveling the world, meeting new people and seeking out new adventures. He was an inventor of sorts and liked to tinker. Chris was always looking for the "next million-dollar idea".
Chris is preceded in death by his father and survived by his mother. He is also survived by his step-mother, Joyce Carlson; children, Tara Danaher, Visolala Maya, Briana Kamille, Christian and Maliki "Mario" Sincere Omer Carlson; siblings, Shelley (Tim) Carlson-Walker, Damon N. Carlson, Brendon Tyce (Christine) Carlson, Anthony Trae (April) Carlson, Stacey L. (Charley) Higgins, Kerry (Elizabeth) Carlson and Jeff Dickerson; grandchildren, Kevin, Micah, Kameron, S'niya, Stevony and Taniya.
If you knew and loved Chris, you know he would want each of you to know - "I love you - be careful". In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to help off-set funeral expenses. Donation may be made to to Serenity Funeral and Cremation Services 6202 Michigan Road Indianapolis, IN 46268 or directly to his daughter, Tara Danaher.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2014 at Broadway United Methodist Church 609 East 29th Street Indianapolis, IN 46205, with visitation from 12 noon until service time. Serenity Funeral and Cremation Services 6202 Michigan Rd. Indpls, IN is entrusted with arrangements.
