The sun rose on LaDester Thomas September 26, 1962 in Indianapolis, IN. She was born to Douglas and Gloria Thomas. LaDester attended Arsenal Technical High School. She worked as a floor manager for Hooks Drugs for many years. Her health prohibited her from further work. LaDester was an active member of her brother's church Lord of the Harvest and volunteered with the food pantry. She enjoyed handworking like knitting and crocheting along with growing plants. She definitely has a "Green Thumb". LaDester loved her two sons, her grandchildren, all of her siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She never met a stranger. Everyone felt welcomed and loved around her. She was preceded in death by her parents Douglas and Gloria Thomas; son Omar Thomas; siblings Theresa Thomas, Clabbie Thomas; and grandmother Edwina Douglas. The sun set on LaDester November 7, 2023. She leaves to mourn her passing one son Sir Clabon Thomas; daughter-in-law Melissa Thomas; her devoted fianc Anthony Johnson; siblings Donald Thomas, De Juan Thomas, Darrell (Cheryl) Thomas, Monib (Lisa) Thomas, Henryetta Thomas and Angela (Farah) Thomas; her cherished grandchildren Ciera Thomas, Kiera Thomas, Ezekiel Thomas, Chadrick Thomas, Naomi Thomas and Avielle Thomas; special niece Kadeja Thomas, who served as her caregiver; and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was truly loved and will be in our hearts forever.
