Obituary of Zola Lucretia Wright-Brackney

Zola L. Wright Brackney, 85, of Indianapolis passed away on August 11, 2023. Zola was born in Harrogate, TN to Lawrence and Mary (Johnson) Evans, both preceding her in death. She is also preceded in death by two husbands: John F. Wright in 1981 and William H. Brackney in 1997; her brothers Earl Evans, Luther Columbus, Doyle Evans, and Dennis Ray Evans; her sisters Freda Jordan, and Thelma Groce.

Zola started her career working for Wrens & Wester Electric, then later went on becoming the owner and operator of an Appliance Repairs and Sales and a mobile washing business.

Zola was loved by so many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her bright magnetic personality. She loved spending quality time with her children and family. Zola enjoyed reading, playing pool, bowling, card games and electronics.  

She is survived by her sister Louise Cromer; brother Wayne Evans; children Carol A. (James) Rief, Carl E. Wright, John M. (Tammy) Wright, Darlene (Mike) Rainbolt, Deborah L. Inman, and Sandra D. Wright; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
