I served with Leo in the Indiana Army National Guard in the late 80s& early90s. He was also a good friend, lost contact with him over the years, was not aware of his passing, a good soldier& a true patriot,a real good sense of humor, will be missed.

I was lucky to have a cousin like Leo! I couldn’t wait to see him as a kid. He was funnier than Jerry Lewis and never sat still for a minute. Leo made roaming the streets alleys and roofs of Indianapolis an adventure. He also was my Superman which he proved by jumping off the peaks of neighborhood garages or putting on heavy clothing and fighting the mean dog next door just for fun. The clothes were torn to shreds but Leo came out laughing with that funny look only he could give you... As time passed and I moved far away I sometimes would start laughing for no reason at all as I would remember something hilarious Leo said or did..Those memories are priceless. Thanks Cousin You were the greatest !!
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Leo. I didn't know him all that well but I definitely enjoyed the times when he was around. He was a wonderful man and a great dad and grandpa. Love you Katie Arritt and family
Along with Leo, we were regulars at Rick's Cafe Boatyard. We always enjoyed talking, joking and laughing with Leo. He would tell us stories about serving in the Navy and Army and working on the railroad. He lived a very interesting and long life. We will miss sending time with Leo at Rick's. Rest in peace.

This is Melva Koch and Leo and I were very close friends the last 26 years here in Indianapolis. He was such a wonderful and thoughtful person to me always offering to help with anything. This is a truly huge loss for humanity and myself. The joy that we had together will not ever be forgotten.
Leo and I were cousins. my dad and Leos dad were brothers we used to spend a lot of time together when we were young Leo would come visit us and we would go and visit his family families were a lot closer then than they are now we had some great times and Leo will be missed. I consider myself lucky to have been able to grow up with him he was always fun to be around and loved life to the fullest.
Leo and I were real close cousins when we were younger and before I moved to Oklahome. I can remember when Leo very first started ghost chasers with his brother mike and cousin Donald and I. When we were in our early teens during the summer vacation Leo would spend 2 weeks at mt house in Hidalgo Illinois and I would spend 2 weeks at his house.I am so sad to see Leo go he was a very nice person to all. RIP my buddy
There will never be another like Leo. He made a lasting impression on his team at SiA as he kept us all laughing with his stories. This has been a sad week for his SIA family, but we have also have had some laughs as we remember the days we worked with him. Sending condolences to his family as we mourn the loss of our friend. You will always hold a special place in my heart Leo
The guys at main Street speedway will miss your coming in every day to buy your news paper and coffee.
I have soooo many memories with Leo and wonderful times shared. He is Sheri's Dad but was mine and Jeff's Step-Dad for many years! Leo was like one of the kids to us BUT bigger :). He spent hours with us swimming in the pool, throwing us and all the cousins into the pool plus a few neighborhood kids too. He would tell us ghost stories from a tent in the yard, throw yard darts, play badminton and took all of us kids, cousins and yes some neighborhood kids too on many adventures.
One adventurous night, Leo took myself, Jeff and cousin Scott to the Hanna House. The Jaycees would host a haunted house there for Halloween. It of course was closed for the season but Leo was not detoured! We sat on the front porch in some cardboard boxes left behind and he was telling the most incredible ghost story ever heard. Then WAIT, we heard something, Leo said to wait right here and he would be back. He made it just off the steps of the porch and we heard FREEZE! The police had arrived. So, we were all led inside and the police asked us kids if this was our Dad and we all said NO. This of course caused some raised eyebrows! Needless to say, the police called our Mom to verify that Leo (the Step-Dad and Uncle) had permission to have us kids and we were released with a warning.
Leo's heart was bigger than most and he had a soft spot for his children and any others that were tagging along. He will be missed by all but by his "kids" and grandchildren the most!
Love Always - Julie Lucas Lewis
