Richard Vandenbergen, 9/30/29 – 9/1/16 Richard (Dick) Vandenbergen, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2016. He was born and raised in Arpin, Wisconsin and was always true to his beloved Green Bay Packers. Richard served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed overseas for 18 months. His working career was with Eastern Airlines where he retired after 34 years. As a resident of Speedway, he became an avid promoter of living green and actively participated in the Town of Speedway’s recycling program. And during the month of May in Indianapolis, he was not only a fan of the Indy 500, but worked on many pit crews over the years and always enjoyed listening to the roar of the engines coming from the track. He is survived by three children and spouses, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
