Rudy L. Cesnik, 100, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on July 27, 2016. He was born in Morgantown, Brown County, Indiana on April 14, 1916 to Luka and Agnes Klemen Cesnik. He was a graduate of Tech High School, Indianapolis, IN. Proudly and bravely, Rudy served from 1941 – 1945 in the US Army. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and awarded a Bronze Star for his heroism. In his youth he played amateur football and was a skilled bowler, participating in numerous leagues in Indianapolis, IN. He was an avid golfer in his later years. Rudy’s career from the 1930’s up until 1966 was with Kingan & Company, Pork & Beef Meat Packers. Rudy rose to the position of Foreman and then in 1966 was transferred to Detroit, MI. Rudy was an expert in his field and consulted for numerous plants and companies throughout the United States. Then in 1981, Rudy retired from John Morrell Meats, Chicago, Illinois after rising to the position of Superintendent. Rudy was a member of the Westside Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph, Louis and Frank Cesnik; sister, Antonia Mollett; nephew, Charles L. Cesnik; son, James D. Cesnik; and his loving and devoted wife of 52 years Iris Norton Cesnik. Rudy is survived by his daughter, Bobijean Neher; grandson, Eric S. (Lydia) Neher; great-granddaughters Claire Neher, Emile Neher; family friend, Janette Whitley (Brett) Stevens and her son Aaron (Jessica) Whitley; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and extended family.
