Roy F. West, 90, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on April 12, 2016. He was born to Leroy West and Marie Lewis on September 18, 1925 in Indianapolis, IN. Mr. West proudly served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. West was also a retired police officer, bravely serving and protecting the city of Indianapolis from 1953 to 1973. After retiring from the police department, Roy worked security for the Indianapolis Power and Light Co. and again retired after 10 years of employment. Roy is preceded in death by his parents; father, Leroy West; mother and step-father, Marie and Ed Lewis. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Mrs. Betty J. West; daughter, Rebecca Forst; son, Roy S. (Cindy) West; step-sons, Robert (Terri) Walsh and Thomas Walsh; sister, Mary (Jack) Durham; sister-in-law, Evelyn Broady; niece, Kathy Leonard; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
