Obituary of Frederick C Thorne

Frederick Charles Thorne, 86, of Indianapolis passed away on January 10, 2018. Fred was born on September 13, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN to Frank Charles and Alice (Knauss) Thorne, both preceding him in death. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Melton Thorne; step sons, Charles E. Smith of Indiana and William (Julie) Smith of Indiana; step daughter, Cynthia (Ed) Massey of Moore Haven, FL; cousin, Wallace Knauss of Indiana; twelve step grandchildren; twenty-three step great-grandchildren and four step great, great grandchildren.   Fred was a tool and die maker, working for Allison Transmission Division GMC for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Fairfax Christian Church and enjoyed reading his Bible and doing crossword puzzles. Fred loved taking walks.
