Virginia M. Porter, 88, of Speedway, IN passed away peacefully on February 11, 2017. Born to Ferdinand and Caroline Brossart on June 11, 1928; the youngest of six, “Ginny” was a quiet, loving and kindhearted woman to all who knew her. She attended Holy Trinity Grade School, as well as Oldenburg and St. Mary’s Academies. A devoted wife of John M. Porter, Sr. for 50 yrs., Virginia was a retired Real Estate and Insurance Broker, having run a business alongside her husband. She was a loving mother and grandmother, survived by her Son, John Porter Jr., Daughters, Linda (Alex) Raas, Patty (Peter) Noel, and Judy Roth, 4 Granddaughters, 4 Grandsons, and 4 Great-Granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her Husband, John in 1997, Infant Son, Robert in 1951 and her older Siblings. At Virginia’s request, there will be no Visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Christopher Catholic Church at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 16, 2017 with Burial following at Calvary Cemetery. Virginia’s memory can be celebrated with a donation made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society or to Riley Children’s Hospital, both of Indianapolis.
