Obituary of Evelyn J. Bault

Evelyn Bault was a woman of faith and courage; born in 1922 she had 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She was the mother of 5 herself and grandmother to 6 and great grandmother to 14 (and counting) great grandchildren. In her early adulthood she would work in a soda shop and later be a phone operator until she met and married her first love, George Marter. Together they would build a home for their family. They would have 5 children who they loved and adored. George being the photographer of the family would capture many of those times on film of his loving wife and mother posing and playing with the kids. Evelyn would face the loss of her husband George in 1978 her faith in God keeping her strong during the time of loss. She would later find love in Oliver Bault who once was the neighbor of her and George’s. Oliver, a widower, their friendship blossomed they would marry in the presence of their family and friends. When Oliver retired they would travel all over; often to see their grandkids in California but mostly to escape the cold winters of Indiana. Her faith in the Lord never shaken even when her second husband and eldest child were called back to heaven, she would find comfort in her prayers and lots of love and support from her family. Those who knew Evie, as she was called by friends and family, loved and cherished her as although strong in her views she never had an ill word to say about anyone or to anyone. Her kindness would extend in the activities she enjoyed at church that kept her busy when she was alone or with her husbands. Although we are at peace with the knowledge that she is embraced in the love of the Lord it is hard to let such a loving individual return home without shedding a tear for the loss. Her smile and laugh will be missed as much as her long sweet hugs. We take comfort in knowing she will forever live in our hearts and memories.
